THAT AIN'T SO SMART
(Tune: How Great Thou Art)Oh my good God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider what some people will believe.
They see the stars, and hear the mighty thunder,
And think some old guy just willed it all to be.
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
And think how people with myths their brains will squander
And spend their lives a phantom god to please.
And when I think people buy that nonsense
That there's a god, I scarce can take it in,
That they will buy ideas that make no sense.
They listen to and buy that silly spin.
CHORUS:
Then sings my soul, My God, how plain to see
"That ain't so smart. That ain't so smart."
Then sings my soul in pity and sympathy,
"That ain't so smart. That ain't so smart."
