WHERE ARE THOSE LETTERS?

I admit that at times I can be absent-minded. (Only at times, mind you.) But I discovered that it is possible to be so absent-minded so as to forget to be absent-minded!

One day I decided to swing by the post office to mail some letters on my way to do some other errands. I got a short ways down the street past the post office when I remembered, "Oh darn, I was supposed to stop and mail those letters." Feeling frustrated with myself for having forgotten, I slowed down and looked for the letters on the seat beside me. I didn't spot them right away, which added some more to my consternation, until I remembered, "Oh, that's right, I did just stop and mail them!"
