CLEAR ENOUGH

I received some mail addressed to a person who no longer lived at my address. I marked it "Not Here" and put it out in the morning for the mailman to pick up. When the mailman arrived I happened to be outside so I walked over to collect the new day's mail directly from him. He noted the list of names on the door of my mailbox, indicating which people lived at the address and which people no longer lived at the address, and, assuming the mistake had been made by one of his replacements, commented, "You have it spelled out so clearly right there. How can anybody get it wrong?"

As he drove away to the next mailbox I scanned through the mail that he had handed me. I then quickly dashed over to the next box to catch up to him and handed him back the letters that were addressed to previous occupants.
