SECURITY
I called my bank to let them know that I had moved. After asking various questions to establish my identity (social security number, mother's maiden name, etc.) they finally had one more question to ask me before they would change my address on my account -- What branch did I perform my last transaction at? Even though I got the answer right (I think I know where I do my business!) they claimed that my answer was not correct and refused to make the change. They told me that I would need to go in person to my local branch and fill out the appropriate paperwork to make the change.
I did so. I walked in and they handed me the appropriate form which I filled out and handed back to them. The girl behind the counter, whom I had never seen before, took my form and assured me that the change would be made by the end of the day. That was it! No ID required, no mother's maiden name, no nothing! It's a good thing my bank is careful not to do business over the phone with people they aren't sure of!!!
