APPLE TOSS

I had one of my housemates help me collect apples from the tree in the front yard one day. I would knock a limb with a long stick and he would stop the apples that fell off from rolling down the hillside into the street. In order to protect the apples from bruising when they landed I had an old quilt lying on the ground, which my housemate would move as needed. When I asked him to move the quilt he said that he first needed to remove the apples from on top of it. I had a basin sitting nearby to put the apples into, so he started picking up the apples up -- and throwing them into the basin from 10 feet away!
