NEW TOASTER

One of the tenants in my house decided one day that the toaster did not work as well as it ought to. Waxing proactive, he took his own money and visited a local thrift store, returning with a "new" (to us) toaster. It turned out that the "new" toaster did not work as well as the original one, so he took the toaster back to the thrift store and traded it for a different one. He quickly realized that this one did not work so well either, so he also took that one back and got his money back. Taking this money, and determined to succeed in replacing my "lousy" toaster, he then went out to the department store and got a brand new toaster. Well, it turned out that even this brand new toaster did not work as well as the old one.

We now have our old toaster back on the counter, and my tenant allows me to buy the appliances.
