TO INTERNET OR NOT TO INTERNET...

I checked out the web site of one of the major telecom companies and read down through their list of Internet access services including T1 and T3 accounts of various sorts, OCDirect, digital, Web hosting and frame to IP. I did not want any of this stuff; I just wanted a plain old dial-up connection, but I called the number at the bottom of the screen anyway to see what they might have to offer me and one of their representatives answered the phone.

"I am interested in getting information on your Internet services."

"We do not provide Internet services," was her reply.
